Maison Pouget was created in honor of the French agricultural engineer, Mr. Michel Aimé Pouget.
In 1853, Mr. Pouget was appointed Director of the Quinta Normal School of Agriculture in Mendoza, at the behest of the Argentine national hero Domingo Faustino Sarmiento and the Governor of Mendoza, Pedro Segura.
Desde allí, impulsó el desarrollo de la vid en nuestra provincia, plantando vides originarias de su país natal, como Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, entreotras y por supuesto nuestro emblemático Malbec.
