In the year 1853, a Frenchman from Tours called Mr. Aimé Pouget reached our country guided by the national hero Mr. Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. As the Director of the Quinta Normal de Agricultura, he gave the vine cultivation in our lands an extraordinary rise.
We have chosen the name Maison Pouget in his honor.
Maison Pouget´s fine artists and sculptors gave life to this magnificent piece of art. They shaped its romantic spirit, leaving their mark in a dazzling creation.
An impressive globe made in blown glass, lets us appreciate the color of such marvelous blend through its continents. The planet Earth is held by a metal forged sculpture, which is gold plated and consists of men and women dressed in the roman toga. Together with vine leaves and grape bunches, these figures form a symmetry around the bottle.
This work was done in Argentina, Germany and Chile, in the search of perfection in each of its pieces.
The inspiration of our artists was based on two premises: that human beings are responsible for holding this marvelous world, and that wine, a millenary product, has occupied from the past a place of privilege, joining us in community.
Our first lot of Corte Oro 2012 harvest, was made with grapes from Carmine Granata Winery, as well as its production, storing in barrels and bottling.
This blend represents Agrelo, Las Compuertas and Lunlunta´s native soils. The first two towns belong to the department of Luján de Cuyo, and the latter to the department of Maipú. Both are located in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, were these two great vines were born and are still growing: Malbec and Petit Verdot.
Carmine Granata is a model of quality at international level. This is confirmed by its huge list of awards and medals. Its Malbec wine won the first prize as the “Best Malbec in the World” for two consecutive years among 400.000 samples from all over the world.
